Economy rooms good value for money. Clean and warm. No lift might be a problem for some.Breakfast good enough. Great location if very quiet at night.

A lovely holiday

This is a lovely hotel located very close to the castle in a beautiful area of town. The stairs leading to my room were open to the courtyard which gave it more of a hostel feel and, unfortunately, it was a bit too cold in November to eat in the covered courtyard. That said, for an economy room, it was bright, spacious and cleaned every day. A very comfortable room with helpful and pleasant staff helped make mine a wonderful holiday.

Hi, i would not class this as a hotel, more like a up market hostel, on arrival, the cab drvier couldnt find it as its tucked away behind a pizza restraunt ! we then got to reception and wasn't given any information about the hotel. Then came the shock, five flights of stairs up we got to our room, on a good note, the maid was amazing we had clean towels every day and the room was clean, but its not to the photos that have been posted on the internet. We also found cheese and ham very boring for breakfast after the second day, its was same everyday, so we found a lovely restraunt called the square which did a perfect english breakfast. !

Our first exposure to this wonderful find on one of the most famous streets of Prague was being greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Second, although the flight to the fifth floor was winding and tough with our luggage, the room proved perfectly adequate for the economy rate that we received, i.e. clean, new bathroom, comfy bed and great t.v. reception. Our tiny window allowed a view of the sky behind palace rooftops which was fine, some noises below periodically. Breakfast was delightful, plenty of fresh fruit and cheeses, fresh breads and the assorted jellies and honey. I would definately recommend it to others for a perfect location spot to visit beautiful Prague.

we had the economy room for our honeymoon, but it was far from economy.the room was a lovely size, and good size bathroom,it was very clean, and the view we had from our window was gorgeous. the only thing was even though their breakfast was very nice they could do with having something different some mornings it was the same every day.would use again and would recommend. mr and mrs evans

I agree with all Joanne Buckley's comments. You cannot call this a hotel, more like a hostel. The room we had was stark with no carpet. There was a cooker and fridge by the door but no utensils. There were no coffee making facilities, no soap in the bathroom and no rubbish bin in the room. The only mirror was in the bathroom. The bathroom flooded every time the shower was used. The bed was comfortable and the bedding clean but the room was nothing like the rooms shown on the hotel web site. There was no restaurant or lounge bar as claimed on the web site. After talking to the staff we soon realised they were struggling to get the "hotel" up and running for Easter. May be it will be better after Easter although they must learn how to make hot coffee for breakfast! This is not what was expected and as things were during our visit a misrepresentation of the hotels claims. The staff were great.

aureus clavis i wouldnt say is an hotel, you walk through a court yard up some stairs to your room, reception is a tiny breakfast room in the court yard. The rooms are nice though the beds are fresh and comfortable, the pillows are heaven. The lack of blinds or curtains on the windows need to be sorted out.
