the hotel is about £20 from the airport in a taxi and over £10 in a taxi to get to the centre and again to get back!!!! the hotel is situated right next to a busy railway track, which is extremely noisy thoughout the night!!!! i certainly wouldnt want to walk around the surrounding area at night, or during the day for that matter!!!! the hotel room its self is not very big, the matresses are thin and very hard. we were given two single quilts instead of a double (not sure if this is the norm, but we found it very odd). the bathroom was nice and clean and was cleaned daily throughout our stay and the bed was made everyday. the staff however were not very helpful, there was no information in the rooms about prague, the best places to go, best places to eat and how to get to these places!!!! something i would expect from a 3-4* hotel and having never been to prague before i found this very unhelpful. when we asked how to get in to the centre we were scowled at and quickly told a list of possibilities but with no extra information ie. how to get to the tram station or metro station. no extra info was given on how to pay for the tram, yet another thing which really needs to be explained!!!! the hotel itself was clean and well presented inside. the food was ok, but the menu says the restaurant serves food util 2200, we got there at half 8 and the kitchen had already closed!!! however, this did not spoil our holiday and prague centre is lovley as are the people.

Train spotting

When looking for this hotel don’t go by the maps on the internet, they show the hotel a long way away from the railway, not true, the hotel is in the middle of an uncounterable number of lines on all sides & the trains run all night. An ideal location for train spotting, but not for sleeping. One member of staff knows what she is doing (red hair) the rest seem to be there as a punishment & are not happy about you adding to their punishment. Rooms are not clean & are in serious need of redecorating. The mattress on our bed was so painful we had to cover the springs with duvets just to sleep. There was little point in complaining because when we did complain about the leak in the bathroom that was flooding the floor one of our towels was put down to control the water, nothing else.

Hotel is OK, not pricy and located in a reasonable distance from the metro. Hotel's stuff, as almost all service stuff in Prague, is not well trained. But there are still few professionals :)
