Great deal for prague hotel

I've read some of these reviews, and agree somewhat. However, this is not a Ritz Carlton, but this is a very good hotel. Its in a quaint building that must be over 150yrs old possibly. The rooms were bright, and had everything you would need and all the comforts you need, but nothing over-the-top. It really is close to Old Town, just hop on the tram, and you are in the heart of Prague in 5 stops (7-10min)! Had an excellent stay here, the staff really did a great job and would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in a decent place and save money, while still staying close to all the action in Old Town. If you are looking for a hotel with more plus amenities, look in Old Town, all the hotels there are fit with all the plush needs you may desire, but you will pay for it as well. Prague is such a great city, wish I could come back to visit again soon!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room clean and spacy(altough noisy at times). The sheet in bed was torn in few places and towels could use some fabric softener as they were very rough. Food was nice and tasty.

The most important thing is its location!!! Just four tram stops from the centre and two tram stops from the main train station. The room is small but nice and clean. Free wireless internet in the rooms its another good thing! I totally recommend it!

Breakfast fine (diverse, nice service, music like in all of Prague badly chosen - OK, they are not supposed to be good DJs, but serve a good buffet); breakfast room tiny, but OK; reception service depending on the lady present either nice or unfriendly; room dark; room cleaning service busy with the bathroom, but didn't clean the floor in 4 days); shower very good; beds very good; noise: tram as well as cars (not too loud, our window was at the narrow side street - but noise will be a big problem in the rooms at the front); I did not like the fact that the room rates (in Euro) are adapted to the change rate EURO - Czech Crowns, so we paid 4 Euros more per night than indicated on the web site (but maybe that is being naive); location: Taboritska street not worth mentioning, but the quarter Zizkov has very nice streets.

Golden City Prague

The only reason this hotel isn't getting a 10% from me is because they have free internet and the staff is quite nice. It's also close to the city center by tram. However, in every other aspect, it is horrible. It may be eaiser to list the atrocities: 1. it's in a neighborhood rich with mini-casinos and right across the street from an xxx shop. 2. there are no good resaurants within walking distance 3. it's dirty (i'm sorry, when i have to remove one set of sheets because there is too much hair - which is not mine- on them, that's bad) 4. it's noisy (i'm a heavy sleeper but was kept up all night by an clicking sound that could have been either the front door or the automatic lights going on and off...if i had been an even lighter sleeper the trolly less than 20 meters away would have woken me as well)
